Great news for Stephen King novel fans because CBS has announced that they are turning Kng’s bestselling 2009 novel Under the Dome into a 13 episode television series. Under the Dome, which is set to air during the summer of 2013, will follow a New England town that finds itself suddenly and without explanation sealed off from the rest of the world by a transparent dome. Natalie Martinez and Alex Koch are confirmed to join the cast of the series that will be produced by Steven Spielberg and Stephen King. The series was originally slated for Showtime but Spielberg and his Amblin Television banner felt the project was not moving forward at Showtime and moved the show to CBS. The casting directors are now taking applications for both union and non union actors for several roles for Under the Dome so do not miss out on your chance to work with Spielberg and apply now.
There’s quite an awesome assembly of talent behind this series adaptation of King’s novel, and each name involved has plenty of TV success. Under the Dome will be set in Chester’s Mill, Maine where the town is inexplicably and suddenly sealed off from the rest of the world by an invisible force field. No one can fathom what this barrier is, where it came from, and when or if it will go away.
The casting directors at CBS have not announced the full cast but they are now taking applications for several stand in roles for Under the Dome.
