Passengers is an upcoming Sci-Fi/Adventure film written by Jon Spaihts and directed by Morten Tyldum. Spaihts is a writer and producer best known for his films Prometheus and The Darkest Hour, he is also currently working on the film Doctor Strange which is sent for a November 2016 release. Tyldum is a director and producer best known for his films The Imitation Game and Headhunters. Passengers is produced by Sony Pictures Entertainment, Start Motion Pictures, Company Films and Original Film.
The upcoming Sci-Fi/Adventure film will star Jennifer Lawrence, Chris Pratt, Michael Sheen, Laurence Fishburne, Robert Larriviere and Barabra Jones. Lawrence is best known for her work on The Hunger Games and X-Men series, she will star as Raven/Mystique in the upcoming film X-Men: Apocalypse set to be released May 2016. Pratt is best known for his roles in Jurassic World and Guardians of the Galaxy, and is currently working both sequels. Fishburne is best known for his role as Morpheus in The Matrix series and is currently portraying Pops on Black-ish. He will also portray Perry White in the upcoming film Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice which will be released on March 25th, 2016.
Passengers revolves around a spacecraft travelling to a distant colony planet and transporting thousands of people that has experienced a malfunction in one of its sleep chambers. As a result, a single passenger is awakened 60 years early. Faced with the possibility of growing old and dying alone, he decides to awaken a second passenger.
The extras casting team with RL Casting is currently casting male and female background talent to work on several film dates on Passengers. The casting team is seeking background talent between the ages of 25 – 60 years old from all ethnic backgrounds.
