About the Film

The period film, “Wonderstruck” is based on a children’s novel, “The Invention of Hugo Cabret” by Brian Selznick. The Original Movie by Amazon will have Julianne Moore as the protagonist and will be directed by the talented director Todd Hayne, according to The Wrap. The story of the film will portray interweaved narratives of Ben and rose, two deaf children, as reported by The Wrap. The story is set in two different decades 1927 and 1977. Rose who lives imprisoned in her house in 1927 finally escapes to New York in hopes of meeting her idol, Lillian Mayhew, a film actress. On the other hand Ben runs off to New York in 1977, away from his family, after finding a mysterious note in her dead mother’s room. The story will follow the interconnected lives of these two strangers from different decades.

About the book:

Rose and Ben wished their lives were different, different from the one they were living. Ben wishes he had known his father, whereas Rose dreams of meeting her mysterious actress whose life she chronicled in a scrapbook. After the death of Ben’s mother, he discovers a mysterious clue in her room and runs off on a quest to find out the truth. Rose comes across an enticing headline in the newspaper, which urges her to escape from her home and go to New York. Both these children don’t know what they are looking for, but they are determined to find out just that!

Set fifty years apart, the book weaves Rose’s story in pictures and Ben’s in words and beautifully scripts how the lives of both these independent people interweaved on several occasions. An amazing script with a wonderful story now set to turn into a feature film will be a delight to watch for the audience.

Casting call for SAG-AFTRA male Extras:

Grant Wilfley is looking for SAG-AFTRA males extras to play part in the Amazon Original movie Wonderstruck directed by Todd Haynes starring the gorgeous Oscar-winner Julianne Moore.

Men in their 30s, 40s and 50s, belonging to any ethnicities are eligible to play the role of a 70s businessmen. The ideal candidates must be available for work in New York City area. The ideal candidates must also have long hair. Men with little to no tattoos, no shaved heads or crew cuts will be preferred.

Participants must know that the project is only casting SAG extras for the scene. The tentative date set for the scene filming is the 22^nd of May, 2016.
