ABC Family is on track to have an all star line up for the upcoming year with the addition of their new half-hour comedy Phys Ed. The show will star Ryan Sypek who is a ABC Family alumni and started in their series Wildlife and Kate Lang Johnson (Persons Unknown) as the lead roles in the pilot series. The pilot is written and-executive produced by David H. Steinberg (American Pie 2). It is produced by Prodco, Inc. Phys Ed, picked up to pilot in September, revolves around Ed, a high school’s star jock who returns to teach at his former alma mater only to find that even though he’s changed, nothing else really has. The casting directors are now looking for talent for the taping of several pilot series and this is your opportunity to apply.
“Phys Ed” is a half-hour multi-camera comedy about a high school’s star jock, Ed (Sypek), who returns to teach at his former alma mater only to find that, even though he’s changed, nothing else really has. Johnson will play Janie, a teacher at the school who was ignored by Ed in high school and is now the object of his affections. The show will join Pretty Little Liars and several other ABC Family shows in the upcoming seasons.
The casting directors have announced that they are holding auditions for several roles for the new pilot. They are looking for 1 supporting roles and 5 extras.
