The boss is back! As in Kelsey Grammer, the star of the hit TV Sitcom Fraser back in the 90s. Starz is broadcasting an American-Canadian Political Drama Television Series entitled “Boss” and the second season is expected to air this year. Farhad Safinia, the guy responsible for the 2006 action-adventure film “Apocalypto” with Mel Gibson, is the creator of “Boss” this new Starz adventure.
The series is based off the mayor of Chicago Tom Kane, who is played by Kelsey Grammer. Tom is diagnosed with a degenerative neurological disorder but still remains in charge of the city while lying about his disease to the public. His marriage comes to be something about more convenience than love. Almost turns unhealthy for Tom. As the story unravels, the Mayor considers in stepping up his career a notch by imposing on possibly become the next Governor of Illinois. “Boss” also stars A-List actors such as Connie Nielson, who plays Tom Krane’s wife, Kathleen Robertson, his personal aide, Hannah Ware, his estranged daughter, as well as Jeff Hephner his nemesis.
With last season being a success for TV producers at Starz, the casting department is definitely looking to be well prepared with actor options for writers as the story develops for season two. Casting directors of “Boss” are looking for both men and women that are very good looking and between the ages of 25-50 years old. The actors must have the skill to portray someone with a powerful and strong personality and can definitely look like they can compel anyone for anything. A character that can hold their own.
