“Keep your hands off my Mama, and keep your hands off my Doritos!” The infamous lines of Macario, an actor, in a recent Doritos Commercial that aired at the Super Bowl. The seasoned tortilla chips founded by Arch West first started being produced in 1964 by the North American food company Frito-Lay. Frito-Lay is known for their tasty and crunchy and fresh brands of various chips. From potato chips and tortilla chips to cheesy curls, Frito-Lay has been the brand in charge of the bountiful snack! Doritos now offers its consumers assorted flavors of tortilla chips for the Doritos brand, from the Nacho Cheese to Zesty Taco and down to the ever so popular Cooler Ranch. In 1997, a hot new commercial came out that introduced Spicy Nacho to the world of Doritos.
For years now Doritos has focused mainly on advertising during the annual Super Bowl. They have launched the fan-created commercials that put the advertising in the fans hands and one winner gets to walk away with a $1 million prize. Each year thousands of film makers compete in this Doritos Commercial Super Bowl Challenge, and one lucky person gets to walk away with the first prize. In 2008 though, Doritos really promoted an out of this world advertising campaign, and has been remembered ever since for their creative genius in marketing their tasteful brand. Various contestants submit each year to the Doritos Super Bowl Challenge and are in need of inventive, out of the box individuals who are open to all unique creative ideas for a Doritos marketing campaign. All talent need to submit in their information, all contact info and sizes, a recent head shot or photo and be prepared to possibly read a monologue at the audition depending on the roles available.
