The 5th Wave is a novel by young-adult and science fiction author Rick Yancey and is the first movie installment in the trilogy. There will be casting calls in Atlanta, GA for the first film, while the second book in the series titled, The Infinite Sea, may be in production as well at a later date. Yancey has not released the name or date of the third installment in the trilogy. Critics have compared this book to The Hunger Games Trilogy and some even think that this series “should do for aliens what Twilight did for vampires.”
After the world has been viciously attacked by waves of alien invasions and essentially tossed backed into the Stone Age, a 16-year-old Cassie (who will be portrayed by Chloë Grace Moretz best known for her role in ‘Kick-Ass’ as Hit-Girl) desperately tries to save her little brother before the world is decimated by another attack.
