Famous director Martin Scorsese is teaming up with Miramax Films to develop a TV series based on the filmmaker’s 2002 Oscar-nominated period crime saga “Gangs Of New York”. The series, which sounds a bit like Boardwalk Empire if it was set a century prior, will follow rival gangs in New York around the mid-to-late 1800s. But New York won’t be the only focal point. Gangs of New York originally starred Daniel Day-Lewis, Cameron Diaz, and Leonardo DiCaprio, and earned a whopping ten Oscar nominations, including netting Scorsese a Best Director nod. The casting directors are now looking for male and female actors for several roles in the new televisions series and this is your chance to auditions. The film starring Leonardo DiCaprio, Daniel Day-Lewis and Cameron Diaz focused on early confrontations between rival gangs in New York in the mid to late 1800s. The similarities to Boardwalk Empire shouldn’t be surprising since Scorsese serves as executive producer of that very popular HBO series.

Hi I’m an Irishman living in London but grew up in a very tough area of Dublin so I believe I can pull of a role in this series as many of the character’s in this era grew up in a tough environment in Ireland. I saw the original when it came outof cinema, since it was what i studied at university was no doubt a very good film for 2002.
Now a series about the same story will do impact well produced and realized as is the case in view of the names that are in charge of production and realization

Taking into account my physical characteristics, which connect like a glove in various biotypes of people of the time that the original storu takes place, I am sure I can play an excellent role regardless of the highlight of character for me sought to represent.

Gangs of New York is my absolute favorite Scorsese film ever. The rich history of the time period that is virtually un explored in American History books is full of life and intrigue. To be part of a show that would expand the world of the film would be amazing. I was so taken with the movie, that I studied in depth the time period in new york and poured over the events of the draft riots of 1863. It is one of the most polorizing events of the civil war. History books claim that only 200 people were killed during the events of the riot. Whereas eye witness, newspaper, and photo journalism shows that over 2000 people were killed in the riot. The information was downplayed, because the union did not want to be associated with dissention of that magnatude on the union side. To this day they are still uncovering mass graves from the riots buried under Manhattan. It has been credited that the Reverend John Hughes, spoke to the people on the 3rd night of the riot saying, “You need not to rebel in the streets, there is a revolution every 4 years at the election booth.” Half the city was aflame ( due to arson and the volleys of cannon fire launched by American ships into Manhattan, and if it was not for the rain on the 3rd night much more of the city would burn.
