NBC has given an okay for Get Out Alive that will be hosted by survival expert Bear Grylls. Bear is one of the youngest  climbers ever to reach the summit of Mount Everest and had his own survival show on Discovery Channel. Get Out Alive will test teams of two beyond their most extreme imaginations in the wild. NBC has ordered eight episodes of the series, with additional creative details to be revealed at a later date. Producers behind the show promise that if you have enjoyed Grylls’ work on Discovery’s “Man vs Wild,” you’ll love what’s in store for the gruff but affable survivor. The casting directors are now looking for male and female contestants for the new show that is set to air in the summer of 2013. This is a great opportunity for anyone that think they have the mental and physical skills to win the grand prize.

“’Get Out Alive’ will be raw, tough and unrelenting, but it will also inspire and teach the essentials that one day may just save your life,” Grylls said. “The goal is to empower people with the ultimate in both survival and teamwork, and that brings incredible reward — but first there must be some pain.”

If you think you have the toughness to make it through the entire show than they want to hear from you. 1. Would jump at the opportunity to be apart of this. I’m an all things nature lover! Living in the heart of the city, however, doesn’t allow for many outdoor adventures, if any at all when you’re a mom of a 1 and 3 year old (zero. Outdoor. Adventures have been had in the past 5 years)! I absolutely hate mosquitoes but can deal with it for this chance (will swat them away profusely). I used to be athletic and fit but have recently fallen off the wagon a bit (ok, a lot) with the birth of my oldest son and now my youngest who is now a little over a year old. I’ve managed to loose all but 15 pounds of my baby pregnancy weight and believe this would help push me to my goal as well as push my mind, body and anything else I have to the limit! Being a stay at home mom is the best job in the world but this mom needs an adventure. If I’m allowed to nominate a partner I would love to go with my brother (23). While he is definitely more fit than I am I know he will only help push me. I would never (and I mean NEVER) hear the end of it from my husband if I was able to go on this adventure. He gets his own little camping adventures with his friends on the weekends anyways (and someone has to feed our children and keep them alive)!

  2. I’m a 37 year old female who would love to be a part of the island, totally out of every comfort zone for me, as I don’t like outdoors, camping Etc, however it’s the challenge of what the island would bring and teach me as a person that makes me want to apply,

  3. Hi there ;) I’d love to be considered for this! I’m a healthy 23 year old woman and I think id do well.. Well I’d like to think so. I’m engaged and a mum of two girls aged 6 & 2. I dont work as I care for my youngest whom is Down’s syndrome, tracheostomy dependent, gastostromy dependent, oxygen dependent etc. although I love my life and have already achieved and been though thing I never thought I would in life if love to do something truly for me to prove to my self how tough I am. My partner is a hands on daddy and is more than capable of caring for our daughters alone and does it well, I have is full support in this and would just love the chance. I’m good with people and very sociable, I work hard to achieve and a good team mate. So there it is.. I hope I’m in :D xxx

  4. To be chosen to be on this show would be amazing.
My passion for survival and travelling began with my mother she is an old school hippy traveler I’ve backpacked across France to Prague twice lived in teepees. So being on this show will push me to my limits I would love to see what thay are and because I have experience in outdoor living will help to show other people on here what to do.if you want good footage then I’m your man I take risks always do what others are scared of.

  5. I would really love to take part in the show :) I have been through a lot of ups and downs in my life and I think that it has made me the person I am today. I love to push myself to the limit and try new things I have a keen intrest in everything about this challenge. I love the show and watch it all the time, I would love the opportunity to take part and try to succeed with the help of team mates. I’m sure it would help me learn a lot about myself as a person.
    :)

  6. I may be only 18, however my passion for the outdoors and being able to survive and strive in the wild is beyond belief, I am fit and healthy and this is down to factors such as the chance of being in a situation which Bear would often find himself in, I WANT to know truly what i am capable of and i know there is nothing that mentally i will let break me as an opportunity such as this is something that as the person i am will make me and until I’ve undergone such a challenge will not be truly satisfied with where i am. I Have places in university to do the closest course i can find to being in the outdoors and surviving in the wild and undergoing expeditions all over the world and country, which will truly be a great experience, but will not quite push me to the limits i believe i know i want to be pushed to in order to achieve this self goal which truly is indescribable yet so desirable to me, I’ve watched every single show and series you have done along with all other survival shows which perhaps has give me false confidence but i would love an opportunity to be that person more than anything. I genuinely crave what your shows are about, and most people find that strange about me, its not really what my social group have ever been into, its just always been something in me that i’m waiting and waiting to get out and experience and this would be the perfect way. The hardest thing is putting why you want to do something like this for me into words…

  7. I would love to do this with my brother Paul.
I have not seen him for over a year.
After the life that he had up to now.this will be a great way for him to show he is a great brother who has so much going for him.
he is a great brother who has so much going for hI’m and this would bring out the confidence in him
life can put you down but it’s about getting back up again and going on.
Also we can rebuild our friendship and family again.

He and I would jump at a chance of doing this

    Cheers and god bless

    Matty

  8. I’m writing for my husband, I have three healthy children from him and he always does everything for the family without asking for anything in return. Ive noticed that he loves watching survival documentaries and bear grylls. Plus he once mentioned that one thing he always wanted to do is take on a challege with survival just like bear grylls does. He told me about the story where bear grylls climbed mount everest and collect the snow to christen his child, he is truly inspired by bear grylls dedication and determination towards the wild. He will be 52 in may and is still and always will be fitter than most his age and younger. Would be most grateful hearing from you.

  9. Hey, i would absolutely love this. Itd be an amazing experience. Im 22 and my dad 46 wants to do it aswell.

I’m a huge Bear Grylls fan and love the outdoors. Also I’m a very motivated person with guts and this would be an amazing once in a lifetime oppurtunity. I’ll definitely surprise you if you pick me!

    Thanks

  13. i am a true fan of bear grylls. find it very intresting and like to give it a go, as i have faced a lot of challenges within my life time as any one else has but being told i would never walk again was my biggest challenge, i was fully wheel chair bond for 5 year. but i refused to give in and with much hard work i been out of the wheel chair for the past 15 years. and now i live life to the full. eg am now engage to a 24 year old, not bad for a 52 year old that was told he never walk again, if i prace myself i can do mostly everything or try lol. am looking forward to seeing what challenge you have for this next show.

  14. My name Jon, 27 From the uk.

  16. My brother and I wanna do this thing. We’ll be entertaining if nothing else. We are both outdoorsmen and enjoy a good challenge. We are adaptive, we work together as a team with flawless precision, we are athletic, we have uncannily good looks, big feet, we can tie a bunch of useless knots (thank you boy scouts – Oh yeah, we both earned the eagle scout award, nbd), and we’re pretty daring. You’ll be happy if you make the right choice and choose us. And you’ll be sad if you don’t.

  17. I love anything to do with the outdoors. I would also love to use this once in a lifetime opportunity to quit smoking. I am a huge fan of a variety of survival shows and would love to utilize some of the skills I’ve learned from watching them. I will bring my 61 year old mom who is in excellent shape. She has recently been divorced after a 23 year marriage and i think it would help her start a new beginning. Even though she said it was an impossibility to get on the show she has reluctantly agreed to join me. Thank you for your time

  23. Live in North Carolina, law enforcement, endurance rider and a crossfitter. Would love to give it a go.

  24. Born and raised in the Alaskan and looking for adventure and challenge now that I live in the city live of Austin Texas, looking to reclaim my survivor side that I feel I have been disconnected from in the city life. My partner would well, guess you have to inquire to find out. Would love the challenge and chance to find my bush self again. Thanks

  25. My brother and I would love to be on the show. we are originally from Nepal. my brother has trekked to Everest base camp, and I am planning to go in a year or two. I have faced many challenges in my live, such as being ill from 2 months to 10 years old. My family has a rich history of mountaineering and surviving tough conditions. l believe my brother and I are up to the challenge.

  26. My BFF of 22 years and I, both 41 with 3 kids a piece, would make a phenomenal team for GOA! We are fit, funny, healthy and love camping, peeing outdoors and eating whatever we need, of course we prefer it with some Cabernet or champagne!
We jump from cliffs into swim holes while our husbands count bacterial contents. We never have regrets and press onward and upward with all new challenges.
We met in college and while at first thought we hadn’t a thing in common, realized we are sisters of the heart in all things.

  27. My teammate and I are avid outdoor adventures, if Bear had to choose someone to get him out alive I know it would be I and my teammat. we are very athletic and have been training ourselves for this opportunity. I have climed to the top of half dome, mingled with the bears, I climbed Yosimite Falls, Which by the way is the highest measured falls in North America, Hieght: 2,425, Elevation: 5,404′, slept in the wilderness for two weeks at one point. I and my teammate are challengers and we love to be challenged, we are survirors in the most extreme conditions. This would be a scratch off the bucket list to have the opportunity in this extreme chanllage.

  28. Hi there, I’m Megan and I’m 21 years old. I’m a mother of a 4 year old girl. My family and I go on camping trips a few times a year, and I would like to take her along with us to gain the beautiful scenery, experience, and appreciation for the little things. But as a mother I worry about my ability to take care of her if we were to get stranded and/or lost. My goal, if I was to be accepted onto the show, is to get my team (My father and me) out alive while helping the other teams (through fire, obstacle, shelter, food, and encouragement) as well.
I would choose my father as a teammate because he has always wanted to test his survival skills as have I.
We all have a story as to why we think we should be on the show.
But, if I get selected.. We WILL get out alive! :)

  29. I have looked EVERYWHERE for audition info. Loved the first season; it was family watching! I am a 56 year old female body builder with five kids from age 9 (twins) to 30. I live on an island in Alaska and my daughter is in love with Bear Grylls! I used to love Survivor but felt that the show eventually “bastardized” itself to become just another reality show. Get OUt Alive thrilled me because it was like the original Survivor and pure/focused. I took survival courses when I was in college and did desert and winter scenarios. I so want to do this!!

  30. Hi. Im Gage Turner from the town of Oracle, Arizona. I am thirteen years old and i know that there is little to no chance that I would be accepted on the show but i am going to try anyway. I am well fit and i am willing to take on any chanenges that are thrown at me. I have always been interested in surviveing in the wilderness with limited supplies and have done it before, while being watched by a perent. I have watched almost every episode of every survival show includeing Man VS Wild and have learned a lot and i want to test my skills that I have learned. I dont give up easily and i am willing to finish anything I start unless i absolutely cannot do it.
If i could be on the show it would make me one of the happiest people on Earth. Not only would I get to meet my hero,Bear Grylls, but i would also be able to maybe ride in a helicopter and be on a survival show. This would be one of my two dreams come true. (My other dream is to join the Marine.) Saying this I would like for you to at least consider letting me on the show. Thanks for your consideration.

  31. I am twelve years old almost thirteen and i know that there is probly no way that ill be able to go on the show but i am going to try anyway. I have always been interested is being able to survive in the wilderness with limited supplies.i have watched almost evry episode of evry survival show includeing Man VS Wild. I have always wanted to meet Bear Grylls and i think this would be a great way to test out what i know about survival. This is one of my bigest dreams other than joining the Marines and if i was able to do this it would make me one of the happiest people on Earth. I would even do it if there was no prize or money involved, just to be able to see what i can do would be enough for me. So if there is any chance at all just E mail me, I will be checking it evry day, so thanks!

  39. I am 43 yrs old very active outdoorsman.been an xtreme snowboarder for 22 years helicopter boarding back country boarding have survived been lost in back country & have made it out . Have dropped 25 foot cliffs on my board . Just a very outgoing & xtreme person think I would be great for show .my wife on the other hand is not an outdoorsman but I would like to put her out there & test out will as a couple . She doesn’t even like her feet dirty but it would be great to see her survive the outdoors .

  40. can you send me information as to when the next group of applications will be accepted and what is necessary to apply? This would be an awesome experience and dramatically change how I now look at life.

  41. Drew and I live for outdoor adventures. Wherever we are we find the most challenging activity and do it; whether if be mountaineering, climbing, hiking, biking, skiing, backpacking, anything. I am a 23 year old college graduate and have been traveling and playing in the outdoors ever since. I have taken wilderness classes at Lake Tahoe community college as survival training. This show finally answers that age old question of what I want to do with my life.

  42. I am an artist who lives in the Napa Valley! I love the outdoors and exploring the globe! I love to challenge myself with new adventures! I love the triumph over adversity on Get Out Alive! Seeing people overcome their fears is amazing! I was a hairdresser for twenty years so I am a talkative, cheerful people person! I love the bonding that happens in the middle of Bear’s challenges.
My Son is 21 and an avid athlete and climber. I would love to do this trip with him as we are goofy together and very close! I know it will be a massive challenge but I think we both have the heart to Get Out Alive!

  43. I’ve just learned about this show and feel that I potentially have what it takes to get out alive. I am a 21 year old student living in Lake Tahoe enjoying the outdoors every day of my life. I am currently taking classes to further my wilderness education. I enjoy many activities but my favorite are rock climbing, snowboarding, biking and exploring anything that seems to be unexplored already. I recently took a month long trip to Chamonix, France to spend time on the glacier and do what I love. Starting with a group of four, I was the last man to remain for the whole month while still climbing and exploring the area. I have one (girl)friend that was on the trip with me and would be a perfect partner for this show. If there is any interest in me please send me an email. With this money I would pursue my outdoor education by going to school to become a pilot and hopefully take that to the next level.

  44. Challenges help define the individual – the measurement of faith, character and perseverence. When we are pushed to our outer limits is when we discover the person God created us to be. This would be an experience / discovery of a lifetime.

  45. I would like to recommend my scoutmaster and his son. I have spoken with them and that have given me prior permission for me to enter their names for possible auditions. Their names are Jay and Joe Hymes. These two men support our troop of over 78 active scouts. Their strength and determination is unlike anybody I’ve ever seen. My entire troop would stand by me and agree that they would be amazing competitors on the show.

  46. My husband & I would love the opportunity to be on your show. We have been looking at taking some survival trips through various companies for vacation. We have watched all of your shows and we would do whatever it takes to be on your show.

  47. My father and I would love to try out for Bear’s show. My father is a computer tech and I’m a paramedic. This show would truly put our individual abilities to the test. Can’t wait for tge next opportunity to audition for Bear’s next season!

  48. I would love to do this show with my Husband!
“The most important thing in life is not the triumph, but the struggle. The essential thing is not to have conquered, but to have fought well.” ~Olympic Creed

  49. My name is Skip S. (last name pronounced Skank) and my wife is Sarah. We have two little kids, 3 and almost 1, which means that we need to get out and have an adventure. The adventure of having children is intense and we love it, but most of it has taken place indoors and we need to get out. We both enjoy the outdoors but are far from survival experts, we mainly enjoy snowboarding, wakeboarding, hiking and that sort of stuff. I am a CPA and currently work as a hedge fund tax preparer and my wife is a former school teacher, who is now a stay at home mom. We would love to audition for the show and see what we are really made of. Please let us know how we can pursue an opportunity to be on the show.

You can also check out a few of my videos on my youtube channel. The channel is called “nachosqueeze”.

  50. My husband and I are huge fans of the Get Out Alive!
We love the outdoors, we both grew up in small towns in Oklahoma.
We own our own business, Boondock Bumpers.
My husband served 10 years in the United States Navy.
I know we would do well on the show! We really need a break from the stress of owning a business and the 24/7 it takes to run it!
We have literally put a ton of blood, sweat and tears into our business and it is finally paying off! If you don’t give up on your dreams and are willing to sacrifice for them, you can make them come true! Together I know my husband and I can overcome and survive any situation we face!
    Thank you!

  51. Hello, I’m Annette Marquez an just sent in my application. The reason I have to make it on this show is because ever since I was little, my dad brought us up as fishermen, hiking, climbing and an all around athlete. A situation happened with my Aunt an I, that really really frightened me an since that day, something inside is making me realize that there’s so much more I need to learn an experience hands on in order to survive if I ever do get lost. Her an I were with our metal detectors an somehow just kept going. I always mark a spot with my shoes like a trail as I go. But that day I got off track an couldn’t find our way back. Seeing the terror in my aunts eyes, made me realize how much she depended on me to get us back. I also realized what kinda danger we could’ve been in if it was dark. So because of that, I need to know that because I do go off with my metal detector an me knowing that one day i do want live out in the mountains, I want to make sure that I can hold my own ground. I don’t want that fear in me of getting lost or what would I do if this happened or what if that happened? I have watched many episodes of man vs wild an i would literally take notes. But it’s not the same as being hands on. I have got to be on this show for a peace of mind for myself an my parents. Especially my dad. I want to be able to go out there an him not worry. I want to take my friend that’s in the photo with me. I’m the one with the short hair. Please consider my application. I’m not sissy to the outdoors an I’m very positive. I know I can make it through this show

  52. My husband and I met working in national parks and since having our son have lost some of the adventure in our lives. We want our son to grow up seeing and experiencing many of the adventures we’ve had throughout our lives. I believe that with our sense of adventure and ability to work together my husband and I would be great contestants. How do we try out?

  53. Hay bear love your show I know I am the man for the task I am very healthy I am 43 don’t leave no man or women behind I am good at fires and ill eat any thing just give me the chance thanks robert clay

  54. I could so do this show throw it at me. okay I’m just throwing it out I watched all Bear Grylls shows. don’t get me wrong it would be hard.

  55. My wife and I actually started dating on a camping trip and are lovers of the outdoors. We know how to survive off of little and believe we could make this adventure. 63. My wife and I both have our strengths and weaknesses but together there is nothing we can’t accomplish together. We would love the opportunity to challenge nature and no matter what come out closer to each other than when we started. To go through something like this together would bring us to a level of closeness that most married couples could only dream of. Plus, we would get to meet Bear! We would love the opportunity, please!

  64. Two fit firefighters in Fort Collins, Colorado. We are also brother-in-laws.
Let us k now when the next try out is and we will be there. We will be in the next show

I love to watch Bear and his survival adventures, when I saw that “get out alive” was coming I couldn’t wait to watch. And as I thought, this is a great show. I love the variety of contestants that it is in it, not only athletic, young, fit people. Not only male, or female, but mixed gender, father and son, father and daughter, mother and daughter. That is awesome! I have been trying to convince my husband that we would be a great fit for next season. We both like challenges and to push ourselves. I would love to get more info for Season 2 and hopefully be part of it.
    Thank you

  66. I am a huge fan of “Get out alive”, NBC’s new show. I am 22 years old and strongly believe my boyfriend (former marine) and I (current commissioned officer in the United States Army) would be a great contribution to the show! We both enjoy the outdoors, love adventure and have a lot of experience with leadership, working as a team, completing missions and maintaining a positive attitude. As well as walking with heavy loads through difficult terrain and utilizing resources in our surroundings. We both love challenges and think this would be an awesome opportunity to participate in!

  67. my boyfriend and i would love to be a part of this show! we do everything outdoors from riding horses to hiking fishing, fourwheeling…you name it! we are willing to try anything and and are brave in the face of obstacles. we have been through so much in our lives and have not had even close to this opportunity. we feel like we would truly thrive in this type of atmosphere and we work off of eachothers skills and talets. He could get me to eat or do anything as long as he assured me it was all good.. There is always light at the end of the tunnel..and we nut the the endurance to make it through and enough encouragement to help others …visualize your chi and let the day begin..

  69. Hey I’m 13 and my dad and I have seen this show on NBC and we were talking about how it would fun to be on a show like this but for a father son type thing. Me and my dad have climbed up tons of mountains and go ziplining and high ropes courses. In my opinion we would be perfect for a show like this.

Thank you,

  74. I’ve been leading month-long wilderness expeditions for at-risk youth for 3 years. This would be the ultimate adventure for my friend/co-worker and I. We’re fit, we know how to live in the woods, and we know how to deal with people who don’t know how to live in the woods- in the woods! It’s our job to teach technical skills, communication, leadership, safety, and how to have a blast in remote locations. Please let us do this on camera. It would give us a chance to challenge ourselves as much as we ask our students to as well give us some serious street cred with the students that think they’re “hard”. Yes!

  75. My husband and I would be the ideal couple for Get Out Alive. We are parents of a 4 month old & toddler. We are not only best friends, but each others rocks. We are athletic, healthy and believe that everyday should be lived to the fullest. How can we officially apply for season 2?

  76. My son and I would be a perfect mother/son team. We love backpacking, camping, and the outdoors. A dream of ours is to thru-hike the AT. This show would be a great test of our survival skills.

  77. My fiance and I look forward to watching this show every week now and think its an incredible show! We love adventures and the outdoors as well as being faced with new challenges. I know we would be perfect for this show and hope we have the opportunity to prove what we can do.

  78. My partner and I would be great for this!! I’m experienced with the outdoors after 9 years of BSA venture crew ( including wilderness survival), and he has can think through anything! I’ve always wanted to dry my hand at surviving for more than a few weeks without food or shelter!!!

  79. My boyfriend and I work amazing together. We are both in great shape and bring each other to a new level. Hope we will be chosen cause we love the show.

  80. What an incredible adventure this will be. I look forward to having an opportunity to face arduous challenges and overcome physical and mental tasks all the while seeing what a beautiful world we live in. Thanks for your consideration.

  81. Samuel Smiles once said, “The battle of life is, in most cases, fought uphill; and to win it without a struggle would be perhaps to win it without honor. If there were no difficulties there would be no success; if there were nothing to struggle for, there would be nothing to be achieved.” I have a head full of dreams, and a heart full of desire to not only BE, but to DO. I lost my mother after a 12 year struggle with stage 3B breast cancer. She was my ultimate hero and my greatest example. She never gave up, and she never lost hope. She faced each day until her last with a smile on her face, and taught me that anything can be achieved with faith, hope, and desire. I want to take the lessons that she taught me, and prove to the world that every struggle is worth the effort, and every battle is worth the fight. I now have a “new” mom. She is every bit as strong and every bit as courageous as my mom was. She has become another unsung hero in my life, and i know that with her by my side, we can conquer the unconquerable and rise above the darkest depths. We share the same desires and the same dreams–to life life to the fullest, to rise above the struggle no matter the cost, and to never give up hope because ALL things are possible. I want to be able to be able to prove to the world, and to myself– through overcoming all odds– that life is worth the pain and the anguish, and that every battle is worth the fight. I want my two little kids to see that “The most authentic thing about us is our capacity to create, to overcome, to endure, to transform, to love and to be greater than our suffering.”

  83. Greetings I’m Justin, and my step father and I are ready for a relentless challenge on Get Out Alive. Our knowledge on survival and athleticism are in for the test in the wilderness. With our spirit and teamwork we will help others get inspired and achieve what needs to be done on this show. We are hungry for this challenge in the outdoors and we want to show the world why the wilderness is so wild. This is the chance to show no mercy against the harshest elements out in the world. If you do decide to pick us, we’ll bring enthusiasm with us each step of the way.

  84. My identical twin and I have always been in to adventure. From the time we were little we were in the drainage ditches catching snakes, gigging frogs, capturing all sorts of animals. We love nature and are always up for a challenge. Just recently we both entered a 24 hours race and without training my twin finished 60miles and I finished 75miles. Together we think we can accomplish anything.

  85. Wow!! This sounds amazing and a great opurtunity for me and my husband. We are from the great state of Montana and are always looking for a new challenge. Growing up on a ranch in a small town has provided us with great experiences but are always looking for more!

  86. I feel as though this would be another great chance to test my mental and physical fortitude! I am a Captain in the US ARMY Reserves and have deployed twice. I am also male nurse and work for the Department of Veterans Affairs Hospital. My bestiaries Robert is also a nurse, but he practices anesthesia at the LSU Medical Center, we are not only best friends, but also neighbors. He and I have a passion for competition and have worked out lifting weights and biking for years together! So give the two male nurses from Louisiana a shot at this great Reality show put on by NBC!!!

  87. I’ll be 33, and my dad will be 55 next month. We are everyday people, but fear is not an option, we love adventures that most people never try i their lifetime. We’ve jumped out of multiple planes together, climbed mountains (indoor climbing gyms ;)) together, did some cave diving in Tulum Mexico together. We are all about the adventure. Show me how to sign us up, and I’ll show you your next winners!

    • I am 51 year old very healthy and fit male that TRUELY enjoys the outdoors. I would be a great contestant as I am very entertaining, out going, social person with great leadership and survival skills. I am a bivocational 24 year actively practicing podiatrist, ordained baptist minister preaching as an associate pastor in a Methodist church. Dang can you get more twisted than that and my partner would be my 22 year old daughter who teaches elementary special needs autistic class of kindergarten students. The running joke each year amongst my friends each year as we prepare to go skiing is they all know in the case of an accident I would eat them if I had too to survive.
