Columbia Pictures has announced the production of their next big film, a reboot of Spider-Man. “The Amazing Spider-Man” will star Andrew Garfield as Peter Parker and his nemesis will be “The Lizard” to be played by Rhys Ifans. Looking for various extras and talent to fill some scenes and to also audition for 6 important roles in the film.
Anyone familiar with the comic book series is more than likely familiar with this villain, and it’s a surprise that he hasn’t been used in any previous films. In fact the basis of this film is taken directly from a comic book written by Stan Lee and Steve Ditko. The film will be directed by Marc Webb.
Currently the film is seeking a few main roles, but generally Extras & Photo Doubles are needed for this film the most. The key roles up for audition include a Caucasian male in their late forties or mid fifties, a actress that is a SAG member in her mid forties and a Caucasian boy around age 7 with shaggy brown hair. Talent need to submit a photo with their casting application. Looking for different types of extras of all ages as well. Caucasian talent mostly over the age of 4 and no older than 60 years old. Talent do not have to be SAG members to play extras but need SAG members for the bigger roles. Talent should be prepared to attend auditions is they send information in. And should definitely keep open schedules as well. The Amazing Spiderman is a great project to be a part of if booked. All auditions will be held over the next few weeks. I believe the hardest part about playing the role of Peter is balancing the conflicting personae of the awkward middle school science geek and the brave, comical joker under the mask.
