Everyone’s favorite cyborg assassin is back for the return of Terminator 5. Arnold Schwarzenegger said that he will be returning to the big screen even at his old age. Director Justin Lin remains attached to Terminator 5 and the project in its current form is actually said to feature the return of several original Terminator characters, including the likes of Kyle Reese – and, it would seem, possibly even a younger Sarah Connor. The film could continue to cover the future war between humanity and Skynet; feature another attempt by the machines to wipe out the young John Connor and his loved ones. Casting for Terminator 5 has not yet started but the direcotrs are now taking applications for several roles in the film.
The plot according to the director“I strongly suspect the next movie is going to take place in a [pre-Judgment Day] 2011. John Connor is going to travel back in time and he’s going to have to galvanize the militaries of the world for an impending Skynet invasion. They’ve figured out time travel to the degree where they can send more than [just] one naked entity. So you’re going to have hunter killers and transports and harvesters and everything arriving in our time and Connor fighting back with conventional military warfare, which I think is going to be f**king awesome. I also think it’s there he’s going to meet the scientist that’s going to look a lot like present-day Robert Patrick, talking about stem-cell research and how we can all live as idealized, younger versions of ourselves.”
